Choices

in that respect are umpteen choices and lasts to make throughout the journey of being a parent. There is not handbook that is issued when a child is brought into the world for a parent to refer to while struggling with a decision to make. I was raised in a strict perfection fearing home where all activities were circle arounded on church. My parents style of parenting can be described as centenarian School. The family was one that was structured as a Hierarchy, cause at the head, mother at the right and the children fell into roll as their birth order. My parents also restricted the type of extracurricular activities the children were allowed to participate within our school, only chorus and softball/ baseball game were acceptable. Other activities/ school organizations such as the Cheerleaders, School Dances or Drill Team were not allowed as these activities encouraged culpable behavior. The church provided social activities such as quizzing, softball and volleyball game and of course the summer camps that would provide wholesome faith base entertainment. My parents also kept a tight hold on who our sponsors were and we were never allowed to spend the night at one of our friends houses.



Although, as long as our friend attended our church; they were allowed to stay with us. We were not allowed to have a concern that required working on Wednesday nights or Sundays as we were pass judgment to attend church. As we grew older, and began dating my parents would only considered allowing us to employment as long as it was a double see to it and my parents would not only insist of meeting the date that the date parents as well.

It wasnt until I got married and began my sustain family did I realize to what extent my childhood was sheltered.
