Contracts in sea captain sports are no different than contracts in e reallyday life. Sports contracts are employment contracts between professional athletes and the teams for whom they play for. They define the rights and responsibilities of the diverse participants in the business of professional sports. Sports agents serve a blue-chip role in terms of securing and negotiating contracts for the professional athlete. Some athletes do not wish to hire an agent for a signifier of reasons, including having to pay commissions or other fees associated with the representation. Since the athlete has unique talents, abilities, and skills, their contracts are categorized as personal services contracts.
As I learned in this class, there are several elements that reconcile the contract a legally enforceable promise. These include: affirm and acceptance, consideration, voluntary consent, and capacity. In professional sports, a actors contract is drafted by the team, and it is the team that seeks out the services of the player. The team makes the offer and the player expresses his acceptance by signing the contract.
