Essay Two - Anthropomorphism
Anthropomorphism is the attribution of military personnel characteristics to animals, non-living things, phenomena, material states, objects or abstract concepts, such as spirit up or deities. Almost every fiction or non-fiction books can be tied to this distinction. Especially found in ancient literature such as Gilgamesh, The Odyssey and The Christian Bible. The trait can be found in several antithetical formats; often it is this specific characteristic that makes the story more challenge to the common person.
In the expansive Gilgamesh, there lies many conflicts in the midst of man and the divine theologys which essentially makes the bulk of the journey. For example, in the epic Gilgamesh, the characteristic between men and the divine divinitys are like a shot related. This in itself lies a conflict of interest with the divine gods. Gilgamesh is deuce thirds divine god and one third human (I:50) hence implying his power as the godlike ruler of Uruk. People of Uruk too stated that in his arrogance and superior strength (I:60-65) would subvert his subjects with unfair athletic competition at which he excelled notwithstanding to show his immortal perseverance. Gilgamesh consistently had the attitude that he was rationalize to do whatever he wanted as if he was a god.
However, it was his egotistical attitude that led him into the journey where he confronted the supernatural gods. Therefore, without the anthropomorphic characteristics of Gilgamesh, the journey or story of Gilgamesh may never have transpired.
In The Odyssey there are just about similar traits of anthropomorphism in which the gods in The Odyssey are created strictly with this characteristic with a few exceptions. Every Olympian god in the stories of Homer have human representation with god like traits. In the The Odyssey, the family members of the gods even make direct human references to humans.
