The life of being a Princess is not what young Malika wanted. She lived in Morocco with her family and was the eldest daughter. Her father was a Moroccan general, and at the age of five Malika was adopted by King Mohammed V. She lived a life of luxury and had privileges of a royal princess. When she turned sixteen she asked the King if she could return home. He then was executed along with those who alike helped him, Malika and her mother, three sisters and two brothers were also punished for their fathers actions. For almost nineteen years they were put into prison with however enough food and water. This was because her father concept he could take over the Kings spot, but he thought wrong and put his family into prison for his bad actions. While in prison even though Malika was sad, upset, and hurt her job was to keep her siblings busy and always stayed positive, because if she showed her sadness they too would start to cry.
