Greenway Bioplastics, a biodegradable, eco-friendly distributor of disposable tableware establishes the fraternity in Iowa City, Iowa in may 2010. Their business plan consists of providing their eco-friendly tableware products to local restaurants with plans to expand their offers to county, city and kingdom festival organizers. Their product is completely biodegradable and compost able, something or so tableware products are now. Unlike Styrofoam, a product used by most restaurants, Greenway products are made of cornstarch and sugar cane byproducts. The Greenway products can withstand heat up to four hundred°, which lends it to being microwavable, something Styrofoam, as well as know cannot be. In an era that encourages and regulated as to what types of material can be used in grocery bags and similar items, Greenway Bioplastics offers a solution. They hope to collaborate with county, city and state festival organizers to drop waste created during those events.
